Hello,
We have Exchange 2016 running on Windows Server 2012 R2, we just finished installing everything.
Everything works on the exchange server except ECP, it stopped working suddenly, but everything else is fine.
When you go to ecp you get the following error:
500
Unexpected Error :(
An error occurred and your request couldn't be completed. Please try again.
We followed some tutorials but none of them helped.
Upon further investigation it is pulling a MySQL error:

Hi Michael,
Try to remove line 276 in the file "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Config\machine.config", and then check the result.

They are both set to our external url. We have deleted and recreated the virtual directory trying to troubleshoot with no result.

It did happen around the time we added certs to IIS, however I tried switching the certs back to the originals and I am still getting the same error.

When you change the cert, you need to run Powershell commands to update your Exchange URL.
Here's the Powershell command to achieve this for your ECP :
Get-EcpVirtualDirectory -Server yourservername | Set-EcpVirtualDirectory -InternalUrl https://$InternalHostname/ecp
If you want to update your external URL:
Get-EcpVirtualDirectory -Server yourservername | Set-EcpVirtualDirectory -EnternalUrl https://$ExternalHostname/ecp

My exchange VirtualDirectory is correct for both internal and external but still having MySQL error.

No we do not have any type of SQL server on the server.

Line 276 on my file was not really doing any good, this part needed to be removed :
