error FailoverClustering-Manager - I don't have a cluster

Question

Friday, December 14, 2018 10:49 AM

Hi everybody.

a few days ago known a long series of errors as i said in the title ...
I checked that the associated service is disabled because i do not have a cluster but nothing changes.
I checked that there is no cluster configuration and they do not actually exist.
I still clean chache, old cluster configurations (although this machine has never seen a cluster)

As I have known of the strong slowdowns from a few days i noticed that it is concurrent with this error but I just can not get it back to normal.

The error is as follows:

Cluster management does not require that clustering be installed on the system.  You can install cluster management on a system to be used to remotely manage clusters.  Do you have the cluster management feature installed on your system?

Hi,

It might be due to you would have managed a cluster using this console and that cluster is having some issues or unable to connect to that cluster. The message in parameter 2 may be from that cluster only.

Please try to open the cluster(s) and check if those are all in good condition

Bala

Hi,

Yes, I agree with Tim. Please check if failover clustering management tool is installed in your OS.

How are things going on? Was your issue resolved?

Dear friends, thank you all for the support. It was like Tim said. In fact having purchased this server from HPe there were so many roles that installed that I did not need as precisely the Cluster Manager.

Thank you all

"having purchased this server from HPe there were so many roles that installed"

That seems questionable.  A server coming from HPE should not have anything installed - unless you specifically contracted with them to install something for you.  My suggestion would be to wipe the system and install it specific to your needs.

yet the server was purchased new, turned on, put on the network and added to the domain. It has the sole function of the file server. No contract whit this

Hi,

May I know your OS version? You could type "winver" in the RUN.exe to check or screenshot to me.

Furthermore, we could use powershell cmdlets "Get-WindowsFeature" to check which roles we've already installed.

Details: Windows Server: List all installed Roles and Features using PowerShell

We also can use powershell/cmdlets to add or remove a specific windows role & feature
