Hi ,

>>I want to know where  ubuntu 18.04 os image file stored.

In the Hyper-V VM Gallery, these are pre-configured virtual hard disk can be installed.

For your reference:

How to use Hyper-V Quick Create and pre-installed Ubuntu virtual hard disk to setup Ubuntu Linux virtual machine

Please Note: Since the web site is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.

When you download and install the ubuntu 18.04 OS, a pre-made virtual hard disk will be downloaded .

And then you could find the VHDX file by clicking on the Hyper-V Manager's Inspect Disk option, like the following path:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Hyper-V\Virtual hard disks\Ubuntu 18.04.vhdx

Hi ,

What's your OS version? What did you mean that where the image downloaded  and stored automatically? Could you clarify more details?

For how to use Hyper-V Quick Create, please refer to the following link:

I meant that according to recommend about Quick create... I choose OS version ubuntu 18.04 to install on Hyper-V. Then, ubuntu 18.04 os was downloaded and installed automatically. I want to know where  ubuntu 18.04 os image file stored.

Hi,

as already mentioned in this thread, the “Hyper-V Quick Create gallery image” is a preconfigured virtual disk image*.vhdx, which is located in default folder for Hyper-V Disk

In this guide you’ll find information about creating and deploying VM with Quick Create:
