I have two domain controllers one was server 2012 and other is 2008 R2 both are global catalog servers. My 1st one got crashed due to virus infection i.e server 2012, so i deleted its name from Active directory users & from Site & services manually and then reinstalled my domain controller and ran dcpromo added to my domain. Now I opened my exchange server and got the above error. Please help me what to do? I tried to remove exchange console file and also select "use default Domain controller" but didn't help, my exchange still looking for "main.tabanis.net" server which is no more. Please help...

If you lose a DC, you need to cleanup it from the database on the remaining DC as described here:
https://technet.microsoft.com/de-de/library/cc794860%28v=ws.10%29.aspx
- Seize FSMO roles if it had held any
- Cleanup metadata
- Check if there are orphaned refernces in DNS and remove those
- Re-add and re-promote the server under the same name and IP

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Hey, I have already cleaned up metadata but I just realize that I didn't delete orphaned references in my DNS records, so I just deleted those references and now everything is back to normal. Thanks a lot
