The list cannot be displayed in datasheet view - SharePoint 2010

Question

Hi All,

I am accessing the SP 2010 version with Office 2016 64 bit and Win 10 in our local machine. We are getting below error:

[The list cannot be displayed in Datasheet view for one or more of the following reasons: A datasheet component compatible with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation is not installed. Your Web browser does not support ActiveX Controls. A component is not properly configured for 32-bit or 64-bit support.]

Can any one help on this if any patch or add in required?

Hi, Rohit,

I will list needed configuration to enable datasheet view below. Please have a check on them:

  1. The datasheet component isn’t available in 64-bit versions of Office. You will need to have 32-bit versions of Office.
  2. You can only use 32 bit version of IE 11 to use this component. And you need to enable ActiveX controls in Internet setting.  For detailed steps, please check this thread: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/26151999/ie11-prevents-activex-from-running
  3. Add the SharePoint site to trusted site.
  4. Make sure your IE enabled the Office addon: Microsoft Office List 1x.0. Open Internet Explorer, select the Tools button , and then select Manage add-ons. Under Show, select All add-ons and check.

Best Regards
