How to allow users to change Power Settings if they want

Question

Tuesday, December 17, 2019 11:35 PM

Hi there,

I configured Win10 Power Settings in Intune but need to allow users to change power settings if they want. At the moment, it's locked and users can't make any changes.

How to do that? Could not find any options.

Thanks,

Ahmad

If you have configured the Power Settings using Device Restrictions, then the users cannot change them. If you want users to change them, then you need to remove them from the policy.

You can also locate to Microsoft Intune - Device configuration – Profiles -Create profile - Device restrictions -Control Panel and Settings Power and sleep settings modification (desktop only): set the setting as Not configured (default) allows users to change power and sleep settings.

Hi Cici,

Thanks for your response.

Following setting is already as "Not Configured".

Microsoft Intune - Device configuration – Profiles -Create profile - Device restrictions -Control Panel and Settings Power and sleep settings modification (desktop only): set the setting as Not configured (default) allows users to change power and sleep settings.

I configured Power setting in Device Restrictions -> Power Settings

Setting is applied but now it's locked and users are not able to change it.

Based on my test, if you have set the restriction policy as Block before, then you changed the policy as Not configure, policy will not take effect. Only remove this policy or unassign this policy to related device or user will allow users to change power and sleep settings.
