Question

this is driving me insane.
So I just set up a new personal desktop connecting to work VPN. I already have 2 laptops one personal and one from work which can connect to the VPN on the same home network I use without any issue whatsoever.
However with this desktop I set up the VPN connection as usual, Windows built-in, PPTP, uncheck "use default gateway on remote network" (as this VPN connection only allow connection to work resource, not internet access). VPN is shown as connected, but I cannot connect to the company intranet, any link or shared resources at all.
I tried a few suggestions about DNS suffix and what not but none of them worked. My laptops can still connect and access these resources fine even now.
Any suggestion is greatly appreciated!

Hi,
Uncheck "use default gateway on remote network", it means that you want to configure split tunnel for Windows.
I would suggest you delete the default route and configure a new static route.
Please refer to the link below:

thanks for the suggestion. I got a ISP staff remoting in but he couldn't figure it out yet.
However I decided to reinstall Windows fresh, still got the same problem. Then i thought of using Wifi instead of LAN, low and behold, it works!

Hi,
Good to hear that you have solved this issue by yourself. In addition, thanks for sharing your solution in the forum as it would be helpful to anyone who encounters similar issues.
I would suggest you check the adapter settings, differences between LAN and WIFI such as DNS server.
Best regards,
Travis
