How do you disable promiscuous mode?

Question

Thursday, December 27, 2018 7:37 PM

Zillon's of articles about how to enable promiscuous mode, but I cannot find a single thing about disabling when you don't want it. Any help? Maybe a really easy powershell command to do it on "ethernet0"?

Hi Joel,

To Disable Promiscuous Mode please use this cmd

To disable promiscuous mode on the physical NIC, run the following command on the XenServer text console:

# ifconfig eth0 –promisc

Run the ifconfig command again and notice that promiscuous mode is now disabled.

On the either net interface

user@host# delete interfaces interface-name promiscuous-mode

Hope this helps
