Hi people,
So I am having the worst time recently since upgrading my SCCM to the newest SP1. Basically every now and then I get an issue when a computer fails to join the domain. It doesn't happen every time, but I had the same symptoms occur in 3 different offices. Here are the entries from the logs:

Any ideas what might be causing this? Like I said...this is not happening in every built. The only thing I can provide to help with this is that it so far occured on Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen3 and Lenovo Yoga 14. Both are set up with ethernet adapters, but receive IP address fine in PXE. Could this be the issue? After reboot they fail to join cause the driver is missing? Don't want to give any suspicions to it...but it may be?

Dear Jakub,
Have you specify an OU when using the ‘Join Domain’ step in Task sequence? The OU is required.
Also, I have read some thread saying that it may be caused that network adapter doesn't initialize quickly enough after the machine has rebooted and needs some time to get up... The workaround is to modify the Task sequence:
[Change the Apply Network Settings -step to join your machine to workgroup. Then put a little pause after the Setup Windows & ConfigMgr step, for example add "Run a command line" -step with command "ping localhost -n 10" and after that, add "Join domain" -step to actually join the machine to your domain.]

Do a net helpmsg 1355 and see what it comes back with. Can you ping/nslookup the domain's name?

In addition if the failing machines are joined into a different OU, or already exist in AD, you should review the AD permissions on that OU (for the join account). It could also be that DNS is not working correctly at the remote office, or that network is too slow on handing out ip addresses (portfast config)

Thanks for replying so fast! The command you posted returned info: the specified domain does not exist or could not be contacted.
I managed to join the same computer using the same account and password when it actually finished building. It is joining the default computers OU and I checked that the account I am using does have rights to create computer objects.
It seems the issue is isolated to machines that are new, not the ones that are getting rebuilt...
I can indeed ping and nslookup the domain name. However I noticed that when I do that, it returns the DC name from a different site. Ping is more than 112ms. Could this be it?
