We have several servers and pc's on APC SMART-UPS Battery units that will safely shutdown our machines in case of a power outage. Unfortunately though as the machines have been safely shutdown as aposed to having had the power abruptly removed ... they will not start back up once the power is restored!
Is there any way to get these servers to power up once the mains is restored?

Hi,
It is depend upon the server machines. You have to enable Automatic power on option in Bios.

Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that devices with APC SMART-UPS Battery will safely shutdown in case of a power outage, but can’t automatically restart once power restore.
Your question is mainly about hardware, as Joby M Chacko mentioned you may check the BIOS settings.
Besides, here is Network Instruction Server section of Microsoft TechNet forum, I suggest you to connect the hardware vendor for official support.
