OneDrive "not enough free space"

Question

Friday, December 6, 2019 3:43 PM

OneDrive isn't syncing my files to the drive because it says I don't have enough free space. However, it also tells me that I am using 1.3 out of 5 GB of space in my Drive. What could be the issue over here? It seems I have plenty of space.

1. Check your onedrive account which message is shown there.

2. Try to configure/Sync your OneDrive account again.

3. Unless those steps fix your issue, Show your error message here.

Hi Esther,

>> it also tells me that I am using 1.3 out of 5 GB of space in my Drive

<< Have you checked the space in OneDrive.com? And are you syncing your files to OneDrive for personal via OneDrive application? Maybe you could try to sign out and sign back in OneDrive to check this issue.

Please right click the icon of Microsoft OneDrive on Taskbar > Account > Unlink this PC > Unlink Account, and then sign back in to have a check.

In addition, please refer to Ian Pokhrel's reply to have a look. Such as check if there is enough space on computer, check the network and try to reset OneDrive.

If you have any updates, please feel free to let me know.

Best Regards,

Emily

I am using the onedrive  desktop application for personal. I have tried checking usage on OneDrive.com, it also says 1.3 / 5 GB. I disconnected my account from OneDrive and reconnected, which did not solve the problem. My computer has enough space, I tried resetting the app but I got the error "windows cannot find C:\Users\USER}". Meanwhile, I removed a large file from onedrive and then put it back, and the issue is gone. Still don't know what happened.

Hi Esther,

Thank you very much for the response and sharing.

I am glad to hear that your problem has been resolved. In my opinion, maybe there was something wrong with size calculation of this big file at that time, though it showed enough remaining free space in OneDrive.

Could you please mark your reply as an answer? Your action would help other users who encounter the same issue find one more solution to try.

Thanks for your kind understanding!

Best Regards,

Emily
