How can you set Certificate Path Validation Settings by PowerShell or via InTune?

Question

Tuesday, March 24, 2020 1:37 PM

I am trying to configure a local group policy setting "Certificate Path Validation Settings option" in "Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Public Key Policies" to "Allow User Trusted root CAs to be used to validate certificates"

The purpose of this is to allow users to import certificates into User Trusted Root Certificate store. If there is another method of achieving this it would also be welcomed.

We are using Windows 10, AzureAD and InTune to manage our devices and was wondering how we can enable this setting either programatically (powershell) or via InTune to our user base.

A little bit more of background info, we have recently migrated from on-prem AD to AzureAD which is when this issue was intially identified.

Hello,

Thank you for posting in our TechNet forum.

According to "we have recently migrated from on-prem AD to AzureAD which is when this issue was intially identified.", do we mean that we do not use on-prem AD later?

If we are using on-prem AD, we could configure the policy via GPO to achieve what we want.

If not, we do not know much about Azure AD, Powershell and InTune. If possible, we could turn to the dedicated forums for more professional advice.

Here are the links of these forums:
