I am evaluating the consequences of running VS2008 on a Windows 10 machine. What are the issues that will arise from this? I notice the support for VS 2008 will be up to 2018 as per link.

Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
VS 2008 couldn't be installed on win10.
Visual studio Supported Operating Systems
- Windows XP Service Pack 2 or above
- Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 or above
- Windows Server 2003 R2 or above
- Windows Vista
- Windows Server 2008

Hello,
Can you confirmed that VS 2008 on WIn10 is not supported?
WHy is the link above mentioned it is supported?
The reason I am using VS 2008 is due to WinCE framework for our hardware which is required.
Will this framework compile in Win 10?

Sorry for my wrong reply in my initial post, the readme about VS 2008 released when the win 10 didn't publish.
The VS 2008 could install on win indeed.

is there a confirmation from Microsoft regarding Win CE from VS 2008 framework working on a Win 10 setup? ?

VS could install on it, as log as you have installed over .NET Framework 3.5 version on win 10.
