Question

Thursday, August 2, 2018 9:38 AM

I have installed LAP UI 64 on my win10 1803(OS Build 17134.165) but always I get "The LDAP server is unavailable"

On my old windows 7 laptop no issue, any idea?

Ciao guys, finally I solved the problem!

I don't know why but after some updates my netlogon service was stopped and set on manual so LAPS UI gave me the error LDAP Server is unavailable.

Now with netlogon restarted all works good.

Ciao

LAPS GUI needed to be run elevated to run.

Disable firewall and try again.

Set up clients for Microsoft LAPS (Local Administrator Password Solution)

Hey Teemo Tang, Thanks for you reply.

I have tried to run LAPS UI run as administrator no luck yet, i even tried get-admpwdpassword powershell command that is ending with same message, The LDAP Server is unavailable.

this is working verymuch fine on windows 7 / 2016 server.

any guess?

Hi, same problem here. Before updating our DCs from server 2012 R2 to server 2016 LAPS UI works fine on Windows 7 and my Windows 10 machine. After update our DCs to server 2016 I have the same problems on my Windows 10 machine.

any idea?

This did the trick, Netlogon Service was set to manual and it wasn't running.
