Hi all,
I recently had a number of issues with my audio driver. My Realtek HD Audio Manager was not detecting my headphones and earphones, and I decided to try and resolve this issue. A forum post on another website advised me to force my computer to revert to Windows' native audio manager by uninstalling Realtek HDA, then creating a spoof folder called Realtek.
The instructions I was following are as follows:
① disable, disconnect or unplug any internet connection to prevent Windows from reinstalling the driver, ② uninstall "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver" and restart to make sure it's gone, ③ go to C:\Program Files
and create a new folder called "Realtek", ④ open the properties dialog, go to the "Security" tab and click on "Advanced", ⑤ click on "Change Permissions", then "Disable inheritance", and in the new dialog select "Remove all inherited permission from this object", ⑥ click on "OK" and "Yes" etc. to apply the changes.
At the moment, I am unable to access my spoof Realtek folder. I have tried wresting ownership of the folder in advanced settings, using administrator privileges as well, but am unable to. How do I resolve this?

did you try deleting and re-creating the folder?

Hi,
Did you checked the ownership after take owner of the folder?
Make sure your performed correct action. Or we could check the following link about take ownership.

If you have created a system restore point, we could restore to previous system point.
Or reset this PC through Settings\Update&Security\recovery will not affect your personal data.
