Hi, I am having difficulties settings up security options on certain applications. I would like to change security propertires of IE9 in particular but all options are greyed out.
I have tried logging in as a local Administrator and the domain Administrator, they are greyed out for both. How can I enable these options?

Now i see. The System has read-only permissions, Administrators probably, too. No permission for permission change .)
If you're an owner of that folder, just make sure System and Admins have Full Control. If not, take ownership. Then do what you want.

These permissions are inherited from some parent folder. Click Advanced and clear "Allow Inheritable Permissions.." checkbox to re-assemble permission list from the scratch.MCITP: Enterprise Administrator; MCT; Microsoft Security Trusted Advisor; CCNA; CCSI

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have attempted to do what you suggested but I cannot see the "Allow Inheritable Permissions" option that you mentioned.
If I click on "Change Permissions" in the advanced settings it tells me nothing is inherited. I can only view the settings for each user from there and the permissions are still greyed out.

Hi,
Thank you for your post.
It's not a issue.
By design, trustedinstaller group (Windows Resource Protection) prevents the replacement of essential system files, folders, and registry keys that are installed as part of the operating system.
If you want to change the permission, just use administrator to take owner and then recommend to bring the owner back.
If there are more inquiries on this issue, please feel free to let us know.
