Question
Saturday, September 19, 2015 6:30 PM
All of our Windows 10 users are unable to attach files in OWA new email opened through Microsoft Edge browser. When i looked for the same in the technet forums few people are also experiecing this issue.
I turned off the pop-up blocker, closed out EDGE, and re-opened it. Same problem. Files will not attach to email when the owa is opened through EDGE. But when I open the same owa with Internet Explorer there is no problem.
Is there any fix for this problem . Any help with regards to the same is much appreciated

Hi,
Unfortunately I cannot reproduce same issue in test machine, so I suspect it occurred due to OWA or Edge settings. Try following steps and see if it helps your case. And also post same thread to Exchange Forum see if they have similar practice and suggestions.
TechNet Exchange Outlook OWA POP and IMAP forum
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=exchangesvrclients
Open Edge->Settings->View Advanced settings->Disable “Block pop-ups”
We did found similar cases so I guess this issue is widespread and I didn’t find any “real fix” released by Microsoft at the present stage.

D. Wu

I experienced the same thing. I used my google chrome browser and it worked on there. I am sure Microsoft will have an update but that's a quick fix.

I have the same problem on 4 separate machines. Enabling popups does not fix it. Funny that one of the most common Microsoft programs does not work on Microsoft's browser, but works flawlessly in Firefox...

What I found interesting was Wu's comment that it worked for him. I have reason to believe he is right as my Exchange admin too is able to attach files and none of us are.
Here is my suspicion - I know we were testing our Exchange upgrade and he(My Exchange Admin) should have an updated mailbox (Exchange 2013 not 2016). [ Awaiting confirmation from my Admin]. If that is correct it is more to do with the exchange than just the browser.
Dont Microsoft have testers??? Post us a fix It is ridiculous if you want users to revert to other browsers to get the job done!

Hi Guru
All of my users have Exchange 2010 and its the same behaviour for those users as well.
Its not an issue with exchange rather im suspecting definitely to be a problem with the browser

Here is a workaround for OWA not allowing you to attach files in Edge:

Hi There,
If you want to use OWA with Microsoft Edge, than select outloot web light on log on screen. Than you can attach files without any problems.
