A local desktop needs to place data on the d drive from a server. We are using a domain admin account to connect from the desktop to the d drive in explorer.
\IP address\d$ is working
\hostname.domain\d$ is working
**\hostname\c$ IS NOT WORKING **Note: from another laptop in the domain it's working!
**\hostname\d$ IS NOT WORKING **Note: from another laptop in the domain it's working!
For this one we get the error message:
\hostname\d$ is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource.
Contact the administrator of this serve rto find out if you have access permissions.
Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again.
Connecting with \hostname.domain\d$ to another server with domain admin credentials is working fine but connecting to the specific server isn't working without .domain. I've already closed the open connections to the specific d drive in mmc>shared folders.
Someone can help me?

Hi,
Please enable NETBIOS over TCP/IP from Advanced TCP/IP settings on the problematic server to see wehther it works.
In addition, please also ensure that the policy
Windows Firewall: Prohibit unicast response to multicast or broadcast requests is disabled.
