Hello all,
Originally I wanted to report a bug and logged into my account but for some reason I'm not authorized so I'm using the forums instead.
I'm installing VS 2015 to learn C#, as it's installing it stops to tell me that there are package(s) to be either missing or damaged and asking me to locate them if I could:
C:\Users\name]\Downloads\packages\vcRedistD12\1033\vcredist_x64.exe
I downloaded the package and located it, just don't work, I have the option for downloading the package from the internet but it just won't work for some reason. I went to https://www.microsoft.com/en-hk/download/details.aspx?id=40784 / Visual C++ redistribution package and it has the download for the VS 2013 package however for some reason it just won't download and I kept retrying, for some reason everything is working against me from installing VS 2015 express.
Shall I simply change IDE? Like use Eclipse or something? Or is this issue a simple bug or something?
I'm using Windows 10 64-bit in case this helps.

Go to
https://www.visualstudio.com/downloads/download-visual-studio-vs
Scroll down past the banner at the top and select your version from the list of different versions on the left. In the download options you'll be able to choose between Web Installer and ISO. I'm having the same issue. Downloading the ISO now.

Hi all,
The link of the C++ package is invalid now. Please use the full ISO format instead.
Best regards,
Barry

I had the same problem on a clean install of Windows 10. I fixed it by downloading the offline installer. The web installer seems to have some sort of hash sum mismatch.
You can downloaded the ISO here.
Scroll down > Select Visual Studio 2015 > Your version of Studio > Choose ISO as your download format.
Once you've downloaded the ISO, Windows 10 has a built-in mounting feature you can access by right-clicking the file and selecting "Mount".
Cheers.

I'm just going to use monodevelop as an IDE atm, known as xamarine studio or something

Had exactly the same issue. Solved by downloading the offline installation of VS2015 and installing from the .iso

I have installed visualstudio ultimate 2013. on a windows 10 operating system notebook. When I compile a program, it gives me an error for Tools missing v140. I try installing vs2015 but cannot install and there is another error, missing a package C:\Users\name]\Downloads\packages\vcRedistD12\1033\vcredist_x86.exe.
Please let me know, if there is a way to solve.

@Barry
Thanks for the idea.
I didn't think the VS2015 installer would care if it was already installed, but I guess its worth a try.

I had the same problem, but I can't download the ISO in English! The site has a bug and when I choice the English option, the ISO is downloaded in Deutsch!
