Local Group Network Configuration Operators on Win10

Question

Hi all,

I have a query around the use of the local group "Network Configuration Operators", in that I have put a user in that Group on a Windows 10 laptop, yet when I go to edit a network connection properties, I correctly get prompted for the user login details, and then get the error "you don't have sufficient privileges for configuring connection properties . contact you administrator". I know on Windows 7 and 2008 R2 there was a hotfix to resolve this, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2157332, but this inst applicable to Windows 10.

Has anyone else encountered these issues with Local Groups?

To edit the adapter change the IP you need Administrators rights afaik the Network Configuration Operators does not cover that. If you login as the user in Network Configuration Operators they cannot edit the adapter \ change the IP with the same error.

Use the Network Configuration Operators group gives further information (but does not give exact details of what or what cannot be done with Network Configuration Operators group)
