Question
Wednesday, November 25, 2015 1:35 AM
I'm on RTM Windows 10 with all of the latest patches and not an insider build.
I am trying to get 802.1x Wired authentication working and I keep hitting the following authentication failure.
Reason Text: Server rejected client authentication, due unexpected TLV or value mismatch for a TLV.
form the Radius server a juniper IC4500 it logs what it sees the correct user name and password combination and issues the radius accept message along with the radius attributes for VLAN sent back to the laptop however the laptop ends up with the above error.
any thoughts.
thanks

Hi,
This error states that the Crypto-Binding type-length-value (TLV) in package received is not valid or mismatched, mostly it is caused by bad compatibility of Client and Radios server.
We received several similar case about 802.1 that cannot connect to an Enterprise network that's using certificates for server-side or mutual authentication (EAP TLS, PEAP, TTLS). but it is on TH2 10586 of Windows 10, check your version of Windows 10 and make sure you have all update installed. Work with your IT administrator to update the Radius server to the appropriate version that includes a fix. Check with Juniper see if they have similar practice or support with Windows 10.

D. Wu
