_msdcs delegated domain in my DNS has a wrong NS record (old PDC)

Question

Hi, I have single forest domain with two 2012 R2 DCs. My domain went through two upgrade steps during its life: 2000 -> 2003 -> 2012 R2 DCs.  I never had issues but in my DNS I see the delegation subdomain _msdcs (the one that is showed greyed out) with a wrong NS record in it. It contains the old 2003 PDC that no longer exists as DC nor as DNS (it's a normal member server now).
By running dcdiag /test:dns I get a fail on the delegation test, as expected. It follows a screenshot:

My first question is: why that entry hasn't been updated automatically during migrations of domain controllers? Is it by design that I have to update it manually?

My second question is: How am I supposed to correct the NS record? Do I have to correct the record manually by typing the correct Name server (my new PDC) in it? Or do I have to recreate the delegation?
I already read some related post here on Technet and also on Spiceworks, Experts-exchange about this question. Someone tells to correct manually the record, others tell that it isn't a good practise and it's up to the DNS service and AD to correctly populate the data. What are the pros and cons and what do you suggest me to do?

I attach a screenshot of my DNS zones to better show you my problem.

Thank you very much.

Hi,

>> Why that entry hasn't been updated automatically during migrations of domain controllers? Is it by design that I have to update it manually?

NS records created through delegation, unlike the normal ones, won't be updated automatically. It will be configured with the original DNS server until being manually modified.

>>How am I supposed to correct the NS record? Do I have to correct the record manually by typing the correct Name server (my new PDC) in it? Or do I have to recreate the delegation?

Please simply edit the record  with the correct Name server.
