Access Denied to Azure VM

Question

Tuesday, July 8, 2014 3:44 AM

Hi,

All of a sudden i'm unable to access my remote vm today.  Not sure what more info i can provide but we had been accessing the VM daily for the past 6 months without any issues.  All of a sudden today we get a Access Denied on the windows login screen.  There are no options to specify a username or password.

No joy even after rebooting etc.

Anyone experience this?

Thanks.

Hi,

Which region is that Azure VM in? Did you mean that you could not RDP into a Windows Azure VM? Would you please share the screen capture of the login screen that you got the access denied error?

Which kind of user account have you used to login? If the user account is not the admin account when you create the Virtual Machine, you need to make sure that it has permission for Remote Desktop. In general, for a local user account in the Azure Virtual Machine, you need to make sure that it is added in the Remote Desktop User group.

I  also recommend you to check the access control lists of the Remote Desktop endpoint to see if any deny rule existed.

Best regards,

Susie
