Disable Sleep Mode in Advanced settings using command

Question

Tuesday, April 9, 2019 7:34 AM

I want to disable or set the sleep mode to never in advanced settings using the command.

As per the client they don't see the sleep option in the normal settings but when they open the advanced settings sleep is set to xx minutes.

currently I am using the command "powercfg -change -standby-timeout-ac 0" to disable sleep, but this doesn't set teh sleep to never in advanced settings.

How can I set the sleep to never in advanced settings in windows 10 and server 2016??

Hi,

Thanks for your question.

Sorry. I don't think you can set the sleep mode to never in advanced settings. You also can use local group policy to disable sleep mode.

  • Launch Local Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc)
  • Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Power Management > Sleep Settings
  • Open Policy called Allow Standby States (S1-S3) When Sleeping (Plugged In) and set value do Disabled
  • If necessary also do the same for Allow Standby States (S1-S3) When Sleeping (On Battery)

Best regards,

Lee

Just do it.
