Question

Hello,
I'm trying to disable some Windows 10 settings via GPO like:
I've tried creating a key called PublishUserActivities with value 0 here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System
Unfortunately that doesn't work.
I know this is possible via Local Group Policy but i do not have the Os Policies in GPO.
Any chance I can do this to my whole network via GPO?

Hi,
The following screenshot is Central Store in my computer.
We do not need to import the new template. Please check if the new template has been put under the right folder path.
Thanks for your support and understanding.
Best regards,
Kallen

Hello,
The GPO setting should be available to you. Which version you're running atm?

Hello Kapil,
Just so there is no missunderstanding. I'm trying to do this from my domain controller which has Windows Server 2016 Datacenter installed.
The PCs have installed Windows 10 Enterprise v 1803 and 1809.
Thank you.

Hi,
To disable Activity History, we could disable the following group policy.
Path: Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\OS Policies
Policy name: Allow publishing of User Activities
If we can not see this policy in Administrative Templates, we need to download and install at least version 1803 Administrative Templates. Here is the download link:
Thanks for your support and understanding. Hope above information could help.
Best Regards,
Kallen

Hello Kallen,
Since the OS Policies wasn't showing under Administrative Templates i downloaded the 1803 templates and installed it.
The OS policy still doesn't show under my Default Domain Policy. Should I import the new template? Is it imported automatically? If i import it will it have any effect for my current policies?
Thank you,
Bogdan

Thank you Kallen,
I figured it out.
For everyone that has this issue.
The default installer for the Administrative Templates is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Group Policy
So you need to browse to that select the policy you want and inside it you will have PolicyDefinitions.
Take the PolicyDefinitions folder and copy it here:
C:\Windows\SYSVOL\sysvol\YourDomain\Policies
Restart GPM and you should be fine :)
