Connection onecs-live.azureedge.net when opening Windows 10 System settings

Question

Hello,

We are currently deploying W10 1709 to our pilot users.

When opening the system properties we notice our machines go to a url onecs-live.azureedge.net.
Does anyone have a clue why all the machines are connecting to the specified url?

Thank you in advance,
Best regards,

Kristof

Hello,

Thanks for the link! I've allowed the traffic temporary to see what changed on the host. Seems like it's used to display some "useful tips" on the right hand side of the settings menu.

Edit: configured the gpo "Control Panel\allow online tips" to "disabled", now the proxy notification doesn't show anymore! :-)

Thanks!

Kristof

Hello Kristof,

The only document I can find is this one, it mentioned URL http://<EndpointName>.azureedge.net, you could refer to it for some information.

/en-us/azure/cdn/cdn-create-a-storage-account-with-cdn

Check if you enable Azure CDN, the current situation should be normal, don’t worry.

Regards
