Running Windows 10 (home) on a home desktop.
Log in in morning as the only user and do not log out.
Task is set to run at 8pm and is supposed to
1) run a .bat file to perform backup of a few vital files and then
2) execute a shutdown.
If I use the RUN buttton in Scheduler IT WORKS.
If the computer is in use, or has been used recently (at least 20 min), IT WORKS.
If the computer has been idle for some time, and I haven't yet worked out the critical period, IT FAILS with error 0x800710E0.
It is set to Run only when user is logged in, Run with highest privileges, Wake the computer,
Screenblank is set to 5 min. Computer to NEVER SLEEP.
Could the problem be that the discs sleep independent of the main Sleep setting? If so, how do you change the period?
