getting error while installing the visual studio 2010

hi

while installing the visual studio 2010 i get error

 

Setup FailedThere were errors during setup.

Although some components were installed successfully, errors were detected.  View Error Log

Dear kamleshnikam,

Welcome to the MSDN Forum.

It's very difficult to provide you with any suggestion with this limited info. Would you please provide more information about your issue?

  • What is your OS version?

Also, you could try the common troubleshooting tips below to install the Visual Studio 2010:

1.       Firstly, please manually uninstall Visual Studio

o   Go to Control Panel -> Uninstall a program;

o   Remove all instances of Visual Studio 2010 products;

o   Uninstall any supporting products. You can find the uninstall order in this link: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/e2h7fzkw.aspx#uninstalling 

o   You can use this tool to ensure complete uninstall: Visual Studio 2010 Uninstall Utility

2.       Before install Visual Studio, please finish the steps below first:

o   Turn off your anti-virus/antispyware software during installation;

o   Install the latest Windows updates from the Windows Update site: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com;

o   Complete or dismiss Windows Update before installation. (And don't forget to turn it on later)

o   Clean your %temp% folder (Start Menu >> Run >> Type "%temp%);

3.       Run the Visual Studio setup again (with Administrator privilege: right-click the installer -> Run as administrator)

 

If the installation still failed, would you please follow the steps below to collect the installation log files?

·        Collect the logs from "%temp%" folder with the Log Collection Tool

·        You can find the vslogs.cab file in the %temp% folder.
Send the vslogs.cab file to me (E-mail: [email protected]).
