A while ago I complained about this issue on Windows 10 enterprise.. here
To start off I'm runnign Windows 10 Pro 1709 with the Fall Creators update. I'm fully well aware of the GPOs that Pro does not support now (Thanks a bunch MS, cough not!)
What I've noticed is that even though I manually checked off the setting "Occasionally show suggestions in Start", since as I mentioned the GPO that would normally configure for me is not supported in Pro but is in Enterprise (love these lame limitations).
However I have an app that constantly is bugging the living crap out of me. In the Case randomly throughout the day I'll get a toast notification and it's a big picture of on of my Xerox MFCs we use... as soon as I see it I know this dirty "Xerox Experience" UAP app is listed in my start menu, and I click "uninstall".
It goes away for a about a day or two and then I get another annoying toast notification and sure enough the dang UAP app is back in my start menu...
How in the heck can I stop this ultimate annoyance??!!?

*Update* I grabbed the latest Xerox General Drivers from their website (updated Nov, 2018), as the Xerox (MS certified) drivers I am currently using showed to have no newer version of driver then what i was running 5.535 (2014).
When i changed the driver in use by my print server, the notification changed, instead of "Xerox 8900" and a picture of that unit showing up as a toast notification, it instead populated "phaser" with a picture of a smaller printer. So overall, same s*** different pile.
I have discovered that apparently the issue doesn't happen on user running 1703, but does happen on users running 1709, yet not on 1803.... but I did see it occur on users running 1809...
I can't seem to get any consistency on who's affected and who's not, when the only thing mostly different is there windows versions, as they all are part of the same networks, get the same GPO's applied, everything else is the same besides windows versions... ugh I hate this problem.
I did however notice one thing...
This time when i went under System Settings -> System -> Notifications -> and at the bottom I was actually able to See the "Xerox Print Experience" app listed, and I could turn it off for toast notifications.
I don't remember seeing this originally, so fingers crossed I no longer get pop ups!!

Hi,
"I see it I know this dirty "Xerox Experience" UAP app is listed in my start menu,"
Do you mean Windows store application named as Xerox print Experience was download to your computer automatically?
Did you associate any printer to your computer or use printing function during this time?
Normally, this application would not installed automatically to computer, so I suspect some careless action or printing requirement made the application installed on you computer.
We could check the Event Viewer (Windows Logs\system) for detail installation information.

Heyo!
The only thing is my Computer is domain joined with serveral printers being added to my "Printers and Devices" via a GPO. Other than this, nothing special other than running Windows 10 Pro, and the Costumer experience setting turned off.
With a computer set with these setting NO APPS should be installed automatically yet I find this happening constantly with Windows 10, and every time MS moderators reply back its a user issue/fault.
Same with the initial post I shared, I had to in-propose the initial moderators answer and someone else JS2010 came along with a legit answer to why these apps were being installed.
The push of the UAP/Metro One Kernel/whatever else they wish to be marketed as are in my mind terrible! They look ugly and worst of all they seem to constantly populate on users machines without their consent! For the LOVE OF GOD MICROSOFT AT LEAST PROMPT FOR INSTALL instead of auto installing.
Its starting to drive me nuts. There's good reason I'm still on Windows 7 at home. It doesn't do this telemetry garbage, and I'm secure cause I know not to mindlessly browse websites or install apps from unsafe/unknown sources.

Hi,
If it is not installed by manually download carelessly, we could regard such application as suggestions by Microsoft. Some times Windows will install suggestion applications for you. If you want to disable this function, please try to modify the following registry and reboot your computer to take effect.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ContentDeliveryManager
SilentInstalledAppsEnabled DWORD
0 = Disable
1 = Enable
For more information, please refer to: How to Turn On or Off Automatically Installing Suggested Apps in Windows 10
As I noticed there are some threads feedback the default function which might influence many customer's using experience. I would suggest you to feedback the default design to Microsoft through Feedback Hub. Microsoft will consider to take some modification if many user have same issue.

Hey Joy,
Now that's a much better response then I usually get. I found the registery in question and have tweaked it accordingly on both my standard user account, and my admin account. I, as one would expect, only log in using my standard account and use my admin account simply on apps that request elevation via UAC prompts.
I'll wait a couple days to see if the annoying app returns or not. Thanks for tip.
Oddly enough I thought setting that setting in the Start Menu settings triggered that reg setting. apparently not. Fingers crossed it works. Thanks again.
Tuesday, January 9, 2018 7:17 PM
Sadly it didn't work and the app came back, however do you think this might be cause the app isn't specified under the sub key listed as "SuggestedApps" If you look in this subkey you'll see a list of particular apps, ones I complained about in my initial thread, Photoshop express, office sway, etc.
But I noticed Xerox is not listed in here..
Wednesday, January 10, 2018 10:13 PM
Happened twice today. :( super annoying. It be great to have the ability to blacklist UAP apps.
Tuesday, January 16, 2018 3:29 PM
Pop up again today this morning. I tried something different, I'll report what I did if it worked :P
Wednesday, January 17, 2018 9:30 AM
Hi,
I would be apology for my late reply.
I noticed you said about "SuggentedApps", would you provide the location of the registry key? I would check the status on my side.

Well hahah, that was my one trick I tried, I simply did a search in my registry for "PrintExperience" amazingly it did find a fair amount of keys screwed through the registry, I would hope by deleting every last reference to the UAP app, that it would simply stay away so to speak haha.
Yet even today the Annoying bugger came back twice, both time I went into my start menu, found it under the X section, right clicked it "uninstall" goes away, hour later Get a huge toast notification showing my Xerox printer, sure enough as soon as I see that toast notification, I find Xerox Print experience under my start menu.
It's end of day today at work, I'll do my reg search again and list all the keys that string is found in.
Sorry it was quick you mean this?
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ContentDeliveryManager\SuggestedApps
So as you can see this Xerox PrintExperience is not listed as a "suggested App" So I'd assume (as results has showed) it doesn't listen to the reg setting to not installed suggested apps, cause it isn't one. I'm not sure what Xerox has tied in with Microsoft to make Windows 10 KNOW that I have Xerox printers in use here, and force the installation of this garbage app.

Just wanted to follow up and say thank you for taking the time to reply and help out with this issue.
Thanks Joy

Hi,
You are so kind to post all your finding here.
I checked the registry in my side, and modified the value of Suggested Apps to monitor if it would reload those applications again on my side.
I should thank you for your effort. Thank you Zewwy.

No prob, uninstalled the app again this morning.
Going to time how long till it returns hahaha.
Dang it did come back, but I didn't get a toast notification, so I was completely unaware when it decided to return.. I'll have to stay more vigilant.. lol kinda hard to do on a problem that shouldn't even really be a problem.

BUMP, THIS STUPID APP STILL INSTALL ITSELF EVERYDAY! HOW CAN I STOP IT!
I'm on the verge of using Sysinternals to track my system changes. Find the registry files and system files being generated, deleted them, replace them with empty files and locked down the permissions.... "I spike you"
Tuesday, April 3, 2018 12:27 AM
I am also suffering from this affliction - anyone find a solution yet?
Tuesday, April 3, 2018 1:41 AM
using Sysinternals to track my system changes.
That would be a good tack if you knew when it would happen. What about using Get-AppxLog -All | clip (and then Paste somewhere to read them) do these installs show up in there? I think another possible source of clues might be looking at the WindowsUpdate.log for Stor I don't have any myself right now but I think I have seen some in others' logs. Tip: here's a regular expression which I find handy when doing that: (?<!data)stor(?!y) (Look behind to ignore DataStore and Look ahead to avoid History)
I suppose there is also a chance that it could be related to a scheduled task. Then I'd try schtasks /query | clip to get a look at those.
Good luck

Friday, April 13, 2018 7:30 PM
Thanks for all the advice in troubleshooting Robert. I'll try those along with Sysinternals... when time permits hahaha.
I've sadly simply ignored it... what starting to bother me now is, even though I am not even deleting the app from my start menu I still get the really large Toast Notifications.
Those are extremely aggravating... I suppose there's got to be some granular controls for that over simply disabling all toast notifications.
Again, thanks for the tips.

OK this is the thread I was looking for...
Update, I did mange to figure out a couple small things:
1) The toast notification appears every time a GP update occurs
2) I believe it has something to do with the version of Xerox drivers I have deployed from my print server:
XeroxV5Print Ver: 5351.500.0.0 (Driver Date 2014-01-13)
XeroxV5Print Ver: 5351.800.0.0 (Driver Date 2014-02-19)
None of these are PCL(5/6) or PS, but Xerox own drivers (I think... which maybe PS based from what I've read).
So my current guess is if I update these drivers it could go away:
Now how to test this without affecting other users (since drivers can alter options and print settings in apps after the driver changes), so instead I will simply remove the printer from my system and manually re-add specifying newer drivers... from.. ughh ... well Xerox's Driver support page.
The toughest part about printers and print drivers are all the different types that there are, It's tough to find a straight simple answer on them, but the best I found was from this Xerox Form Post.
What strange is this doesn't happen for all users, so far myself and our Dev have this issue, however the DBA does not (I'm unaware at this time which exact version of Windows 10 we are all on, cause yay you can't just say Windows X anymore and it basically came down to Service Packs (to get idea of what changes there may be on a system) to now the hundreds of iterations of Windows that exist and you have to dig into the exact version number to get any idea of why certain things do what they do... each version can act so different then the one before it... (E.G. 1709 vs 1803)

Hey! Thanks for the addional info OsuJAG.
I used this info to do a bit of digging, on my system experinceing this issue (Still has I haven't dug around with trying different drivers yet) I got a ton of stuff to take care of and the amount of bugs I come across really slows down my progress.... :@
Anyway... I tried looking for the Appx first using Get-AppxProvisionedPackage -Online.
but to no avail (to be expected that its not a provisioned app)
Then I tried get-AppxPackage (figuring this was for all installed U Apps) but again, nothing... ?
Then using your information you provided on the physical file path (C:\Program Files\WindowsApps) I do in fact have the same folder/file structers for this app (so why didn't the Get-AppxPackage pick up on it) I don't know.
I am going to try and delete these folders/files and see what happens. I mean the App technically never worked right anyway... fingers crossed!
Wednesday, August 22, 2018 5:24 PM
Well told me access denied then a bit more trial and error I managed to find the App by using the -AllUsers parameter... but attempting to pipe this into a remove, told me its not installed for my current user (which is my admin account, and the app is installed on my non admin account, so yeah...)
So i opened PowerShell as my standard user and ran:
"Get-AppxPackage -name XeroxCorp.PrintExperience | Remove-AppxPackage"...
It removed it successfully apparently... now for a gpudate to see if the toast notifications come back....
YES!!!!!! its GONE!!!!
THANK YOU!!!! OsuJAG!!
Ughhh I spoke to soon, it came back if I have to block it via app locker or something that is just redicuouls! :(

I was having the same problem and built off of your post a bit to resolve the issue
Create the following AppLocker GPOs
Computer Configuration > Policies > Windows Compenents > Security Settings > App Locker
In the right had screen choose Configure rule enforcement
- Check the box for **Executable Rules **and Windows Installer Rules and choose Enforce Rules
Next Select **Executable Rules **and choose Create New Rule
- Choose Next
- Select Deny radio button
- For user keep Everyone
- Next
- For user keep Everyone
- Select Path
- Next
- Enter the path: c:\Program Files\WindowsApps\XeroxCorp.PrintExperience_7.48.16.0_neutral_~_f7egpvdyrs2a8
Repeat the steps above for the following two paths
c:\Program Files\WindowsApps\XeroxCorp.PrintExperience_7.48.16.0_neutral_split.scale-100_f7egpvdyrs2a8
c:\Program Files\WindowsApps\XeroxCorp.PrintExperience_7.48.16.0_x64__f7egpvdyrs2a8
From your Printer Deployment GPO check the Preferences, and ensure the Xerox printer you have selected is not set to Replace Some of the drivers auto start that install and it will try re running the installation every time GPUpdate is run I have mine set to Create.
Finally uninstall the darn thing: Get-AppxPackage -name XeroxCorp.PrintExperience | Remove-AppxPackage

Woah, thanks JRABEAK.
A lil excessive, but hey I'll try it out later today.
Thank you for the reply.
So far, so good. Still think its a bit excessive for a fix, but it'll do, I'll def double check my printer deployment GPO, if I remember I think I did pick replace cause it usually was a nice way to enforce the printer to be there haha, specially if I happen to make any changes to their settings or the drivers, etc.
One last feedback on this, from testing this does prevent the toast notification from happening, however it does not prevent the app itself from being installed, if you check for the app with the Get-AppxPackage cmd you will see it does return, but again the notifications do stop, so thank goodness.
Guess the only other option would be to adjust my printer GPO, but I don't think it's fair for again MS to force install apps of any kinda, regardless if it based from a driver, none of the other apps (Word, or otherwise need that app to print to those printers) so why is it being forced?
Thursday, August 23, 2018 4:43 PM
LOL it still came back! I even verified I was getting my GPO via gpresult.... lol
OK, just wanted to follow up here, the reason the AppLocker trick didn't work is cause my Windows 10 is Pro, and AppLocker doesn't work with Pro (Thanks MS).
So my only options are
A) Upgrade to Enterprise and hope the AppLocker mechanism still works.
B) Adjust my Printer GPO to be create only (Will test this out tomorrow hopefully), instead of repalce
All this cause of one annoying toast notification from a UAP app I never asked for.
Friday, August 24, 2018 5:14 PM
That's a bummer! It still hasn't reinstalled for me since making the changes, not that it will help you out.
Do you have an AV solution, perhaps mark that folder as a virus and let the AV block it?
Monday, August 27, 2018 2:06 AM
I'm gonna first attempting altering my local print driver for those devices, however, I feel that might not work as my GPP is set to replace, as mentioned above might be the second root cause of the issue and over write my drivers with those from the print server and the GPP setting.
Friday, January 18, 2019 3:25 AM
Did you find a solution? I am also suffering this ailment. As soon as my GP runs and installs the xerox print driver the notification begins. I can temporarily stop it by using windows notifications and actions settings HOWEVER it seems that if any admin changes any printer settings notifications come back domain wide. so frustrating.
Friday, January 18, 2019 4:12 AM
Sorry I have not, it still pops up in my ****ing face everyday...
I was going to test with newer Xerox drivers on a laptop to test. I just haven't had time as I have many SharePoint migration projections on the run. As well as Hypervisor infrastructure upgrades.
I will post an answer when i do solve it, and probably blog about it... cause it sure is painful.
Wednesday, March 13, 2019 5:11 PM
It appears 1803 and 1809 have an option to disable per app notifications, so after disabling all toast notifications for the Xerox Experience. I finally don't get toast notification anymore!
I have not found a way to mass deploy this at the moment, just told people how to disable the app under system notifications.
Not exactly uninstalling, or removing the app per say, but it stopped the biggest annoyance and that was the endless toast notifications.
Wednesday, July 24, 2019 1:41 PM
I'm having the same problem here and it's driving me crazy. I can't get rid of the pop-up everytime the computer starts.
I've figured out it's coming because we're using Class 4 drivers for our Xerox printers. It's not an option to change the drivers but I can do everything else to stop this. GPO, registry hacks, file/folder permissions, whatever. Only limit I have on these machines it that they're on a mandatory profile and the printer need to be installed at each startup. All machines are running 1903. Any help will be appreciated

Haven't tested this fully but I had it in an old notepad, saving here for reference.
As User:
Open PoSH
Get-AppxPackage -name XeroxCorp.PrintExperience | Remove-AppxPackage
As Admin
cd "c:\Program Files\WindowsApps"
cd XeroxFolder
del *.*
icacls XeroxCorp.PrintExperience_7.48.16.0_neutral_split.scale-100_f7egpvdyrs2a8 /inheritance:r /grant:r domain\user:(OI)(CI)F /T
Complete for all XeroxApp Folders
