Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB Updates

  I have recent purchase of several mini computers with Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB pre-installed. I need to find out how to install updates. Attempting to use automatic updates does not work, says contact administrator. These will be standalone workstations. How do I apply updates?

Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB also can update itself like other Windows 10 edition.

Make sure your computers have normal network connection, make sure login account is admin account, run Windows update troubleshooter again.

Open group policy editor and go to Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update, make sure all policies are Not Configured.

Besides, you could manually install the latest SSU and cumulative updates from Windows update catalog directly.
