Question

Hi Experts,
I run several VMs (W2012 and W2016) and I was able to increase the size to 125% in some old ones in Win2012. We deployed new servers but I don't have the option to increase the screen to 125% any more. It says "The display settings can't be changed from a remote session". The current display is a bit small for me.
I found a workaround creating two records in REGEDIT (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\LogPixels and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\IgnoreClientDesktopScaleFactor) for a WIN2016 server in my personal azure account but I don't want to execute this process in the several VMs that I use in my current company.
Is there an easiest way to increase the display size?
Thanks.
Vlad

Correct. You cannot change the display size settings in the manner you are looking to do. This is a limitation of Remote Desktop.
The only option you can do is to change each item indiviually.
Try the following:
1) RDP to your VM
2) Open up display settings
3) Select Advanced Display Settings
4) Scroll to the bottom and select Advanced Sizing of Text and Other items
5) Listed are the available items that you are able to resize

You can try changing the display size in the RDP settings of Remote Desktop Connection on the Display tab. However, setting to the display size must be done while disconnected.

As Zahid mentioned, you can use the RDP settings before connecting to change the display size
Otherwise there is another option inside the remote session to change particular sizing settings
The RDP settings before connecting is likely the best route to take.

Hi Zarid,
I have tried that option before but what it does is to reduce the size of the VM on my monitors as follow
What I want is to increase the resolution to 125% with the following option?
However, it is disabled as follow:
