Question

OK, so I admit I have a workaround, albeit not a 'nice' one, (use VS 2012), but I want to install the extensions for BIDS for Visual Studio 2010. I know this is definitely now possible, since, I have the extenstions installed on my old PC, but I have a new laptop now and I want to have the same functionality.
Such as:
- Being able to open the SSIS packages I previously developed in VS 2010 in VS 2010.
- Being able to create new SSIS Projects in VS 2010.
The options I need are nicely illustrated in this screenshot:
I think previously you could simply download the extenstions via this link:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt204009.aspx
But this only works for VS 2012, not 2010...
Any ideas - I'd like to have my new laptop in the same state as my old PC.

Hi SSIS_Newbie_1234,
Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
When you install SSDT, it includes templates for BI projects (i.e. SSAS, SSIS, SSRS). SSDT can be installed as a stand-alone application, or, if you have VS2010 SP1 on your machine, then SSDT will install inside of VS2010.
Refer to: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10556042/ssdt-not-working-in-visual-studio-2010-sp1
So I suggest you could install the visual studio 2010 SP1, you can download from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=23691

Well, I already had MS VS 2010 SP1 installed, and it definitely didn't have the extenstions.
So I would say, 'sometimes' it installs them, and other times not.
Luckily the DBA had some extra install media, which I have now run, and therefore, the extensions have installed, so I can close this.
