Visio/365 Click-to-Run Error

Question

Thursday, January 17, 2019 9:55 PM

Hello,

I'm trying to install Visio 2016 with a standalone license key on a computer that currently has Office 365 Pro with Skype for Business. At first, I ran into a problem with Click to Run 32bit/64bit clash. After removing “Office 16 Click-to-Run Extensibility Component 64-bit Registration,” which has worked in the past, following the steps in this article... https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_install-mso_win10/office-16-click-to-run-extensibility-component-64/e79ee5bd-f119-4808-9bb2-289dd815b76a... I am now receiving an error saying it cannot be installed while Skype for Business and Office 365 are installed due to another Click-to-Run error. Is it really not possible to install Visio 2016 while Office 365 is installed?

Other articles I've seen have suggested uninstalling Office 365, which I cannot do as I need these products on the computer. I have uninstalled it, installed Visio and tried reinstalling 365, but the 365 install will then fail.

Any help would be great! This has been extremely frustrating.

Thank you,

Hi Mat,

What's your detailed Visio 2016 installation technology? Are you purchased it from volume license service center?

Generally, it is not supported to install volume licensed (MSI) version of Visio 2016 with Office 365 ProPlus (Click-to-run) on the same computer. If you purchased volume licensed version of Visio 2016, we can use the Office Deployment Tool to install volume licensed versions of Project 2016 and Visio 2016:

Please check if it is your scenario.
