Remotely viewing Local Users and Groups via Computer Management on Windows 10

Question

Monday, March 18, 2019 1:36 PM

Hi!

I have an issue where ordinary users cannot remotely view Groups under Local Users and Groups via Computer Management on other Windows 10 computers. This works on Windows 7 computers. I have checked the security options in the group policy and have also tried some various settings. Anybody who knows about any specific settings for this?

Regards, Erik

Hi ardengard,

What’s the version and edition of your Windows 10 machines?

Besides, a little confused that it’s failing to connect with other machine to check the Local Users and Groups, or, successfully connected with another machine but found no entry under the Local Users and Groups? Have the Windows Firewall on the remote desktop been configured to allow remote administration?

If there is anything else we can do for you, please feel free to post in the forum. Thank you for choosing Microsoft.

Best regards,

Zoe Mo

Hi Zoe Mo!

Thank you for your answer. Users can successfully connect to another machine but the Local Users and Groups is empty? For an administrator it works as expected.

We have Windows 10 1709. I have also tried to disable the Windows Defender Firewall on both machines.
