I recently changed my name so i also changed my microsoft account name and the correct name is displayed everywhere except for my user file (when i go to this pc > my hard drive > users). The file account for my user is still my old name. If i just change the file name will that mess up my computer? If so how do i properly fix this issue?

Hi Finn,
What is your current situation?
For the Microsoft Account folders located under C:\Users, it is not recommended to change, as the name is already registered into registry.
If you would insist, you may take a look at the threads below:
Please do backup first.
Besides, there is a way not taking use of the registry.
If this is available, please consider add a Local Admin account (with the proper user name you like the folder to stay with) first, after that, login the newly created local account, delete the Microsoft Account, then link the Microsoft Account to your Local account if you wish.
Through Settings->Accounts->Your email and account
Regards
