Windows 10 - AVB/TNS ASIO support

Question

Has anyone heard if, or more than likely when,  Windows will have support for the IEEE 802 spec for audio video bridging - time sensitive network?   Many many PC's now have the intel devices that support this spec.  Audio equipment developers such as Avid, Motu and presonus have hardware that support it.

Hi,

Driver support really needs to come from the card vendor. Some manufacturers wrote their AVB driver for Windows. Microsoft has not yet bundled. According to my research, "Audio Video Bridging " is a set of IEEE standards for transporting audio and other real-time content over Ethernet. At present, I haven`t got this standard will be supported by Windows system from official website.

Regards,

AVB has been supported by Mac for years it is built into their operating system. It is now pretty much the standard to audio networking. I am looking to have to purchase a Mac to operate audio equipment running what has now pretty much become the standard across the industry for live and studio equipment... BTW if windows wants to compete in the audio production and video production space you are going to have to get a lot better at support for these standards. Lets face it asio kills all of the windows audio protocols, I am really put to shame when my PC running windows is in the dark ages when it comes to audio standards
