Send To permission for Distribution Group / Distribution List

Question

Thursday, August 3, 2017 7:39 PM

HI ,

In my organisation, we have a Distribution group (DG )created in AD with the below properties.

Group Scope: Global

Type : Distribution

This Distribution group send to permission has been restricted to certain members. We have added the same DG to the permission. But the members within this DG cannot send emails to their own DG receiving message saying they do not have permission to send mails to this address.

Please let me know why adding DG to its own send to permission list is not working.

Please use ADUC while giving "Send As" permissions to DG. Also note that it takes couple of hours to take effect.

Yes . We have added the same DG in the List . it should work right ? but instead we had to individual users to list which seems to be tedious as the list contains large number members ( member list changes frequently based on the customer requirements.)

Have you tried changing the scope of the distribution group to Universal maybe?
