Question

Hello,

Is there a way to prevent wallpaper from going behind the taskbar so its like how it was done in windows 7? I have a wallpaper that's getting cut off just enough where its an eyesore and im not able to a find a way to do the above without editing the picture.

Thank you for any guidance.

J

start > Settings > Personalisation > Background, Choose a fit set to Fit??

Or Stretch under the same settings makes the whole image fit the viewable screen, even if it has to shrink it... but does not maintain the ratio of the original picture.

Hi,

You can try Fill for background.

Also, make the taskbar and start menu no transparent.

I Windows 7 the taskbar is transparent so shows the desktop picture behind it, so it is that you mean? The Start, taskbar and Action Centre can be made transparent in Windows 10, but is not as transparent I would say (start > Settings > Personalisation > Colours, and the 'Make Start, taskbar and Action Centre transparent' to on) Does that help?

Thank you for reply. More so with windows 10 Id like the wallpaper to stop at the taskbar vs extending behind it. This happens when its transparent and not.

none of these answers do anything about the original question. fit, fill, and stretch all do the exact same thing with a 16x9 photo on a 16x9 screen, no matter what the taskbar's transparency is set to: the taskbar still covers the photo. hiding the taskbar or photoshopping the photo are the only way to see the whole photo.
