Question

Hello,
I'm currently migration one of my customers from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013, and one user reported to me that sometimes, when he is trying to delete emails in his mailbox from Outlook 2010, he gets the following error message:
"The operation failed"
Of course the email is not deleted.
I already checked if there was error on my server or on his computer in the event log but I can't find anything.
I'm a little bit lost for this case, that's why any help or idea would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Bigor

Hiii Bigor,
To deal with issue first try to start outlook with /resetfolders command.
Enter “outlook.exe /resetfolders” Run command. Check there is a space before ‘/’.
Now try to delete that particular email. Still receiving error than your OST file might be corrupted. Execute Scanpst.exe or Try INTRIGUA Convert OST Software that can recover immensely corrupted OST file effectively and reliably.
Thanks and Regards

Hi Bigor,
How about run Outlook with online mode or cache mode? Also, test it in OWA.
If this issue persists, please try to re-configure Outlook profile for testing.
Moreover, post relevant error message on Exchange server for further analysis.

Hi,
Please check that the Outlook version and build number is supported on Exchange 2013:
- https://technet.microsoft.com/library/dn803988(v=office.14).aspx
For Outlook 2010, you need at least SP2 with April 2015 PU.
Thanks.

Hi,
Please also check the event log on the Exchange server of any issues with the users mailbox or mailbox database.
Thanks.
