Question

Hello,
We use Office 365 Pro Plus in our company. Users keep getting a proxy authentication pop up box but it never accepts the user credentials. It just pops back up as soon as we type in the username and password.
We noticed that it tries to connect to these addresses:
office365.com
office.com
outlook.comoffice.net
officeapps.live.com
officeclient.microsoft.com
autodiscover.altoprestige.mail.microsoft.com
office.client.microsoft.com
altoprestige.mail.onmicrosoft.com
ugcorigin.s-microsoft.com
odc.officeapps.live.com
We've added these addresses to our proxy exception but users still get the pop up. When we were on Office 2013 we had a registry key that stops this from happening. Is there a similar fix for office 365?
What's the best way to stop this from happening?

Hi Paolo,
Does it happen to all users?
Do you mean ExcludeHttpsRootDomain registry key? I found similar thread which says we may add this key under this path: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\AutoDiscover]
We may test this on one problematic client.
According to my research, we can add these sites as the exceptions of proxy server in IE.
Besides, if error continues, please open File > Options > Trust Center > Privacy Options. Clear all check-boxes to test the results.
What’s more, according to the highly voted reply in following link, we can add sites in the proxy bypass under network settings to avoid these pop-up dialog.

Any more concern, please feel free to post back.

Hi Perry,
The pop up we get is the proxy authentication for ugcorigin.s-microsoft.com. I tried adding s-microsoft.com into our proxy exceptions list and so far the pop up hasn't appeared.
I'm currently monitoring this.
Regards,
Paolo
