Question

Thursday, December 17, 2015 2:58 PM

Hi there,

I would like to check locally whether WMI is working on a Windows Server 2012 Core mode server. Since there is no GUI, I cannot use the wbemtest command.

Pls advice.

Thanx.

Regards,

Chris

Hi Chris

You can use following command to check WMI status

1. Type "WMIC"

2. If WMI service is running, you should be able to connect to the service successfully.

3. Later you can try typing any of classes like "OS, BIOS etc.."

SAMPLE OUTPUT:

 wmic:root\cli>OS
BootDevice               BuildNumber  BuildType            Caption
\Device\HarddiskVolume1  10586        Multiprocessor Free  Microsoft Windows 10Hope above information is helpful.
