I am getting The Standard View of your list is being displayed because your browser does not support running ActiveX controls. I have read Edge does not support ActiveX but also read that plugins will be added to the browser by year end possibly. There apparently isn't anything I can do currently to view datasheets in SharePoint 2010 save the ... Open with Internet Explorer option, correct? Unless someone has some magic they want to share ;-)

Since you're running IE11, SharePoint sites must be added to the Compatibility View Setting as SharePoint 2013 is not fully IE11 compatible (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263526.aspx).

Of course, I see in SharePoint 2013 the datasheet view works well since its not bound to the ActiveX control. OK option #2 must be move everything to SharePoint 2013 ;-) I wonder if a plugin will be made available later in the year.

Hi Bryan- even though it's a MS product, it's not fully compatible with SP as you've learned. I suggest you only use IE as the standard practice.

For me, ActiveX was enabled, the browser was 32-bit IE, and the site was added to my Trusted Sites.
Simply closing out of IE and reopening fixed the problem.
