Sorry if this is the wrong spot to post this; I was wondering if it is possible to get spy++ for vs community 2017, and, if so, how. I have been unable to find any online resources to help. Thank you for any assistance.

Hi Wilkyrl,
Welcome to the MSDN forum.
We can start Spy++ either from Visual Studio or at a command prompt as below, please check this doc: How to: Start Spy++
If you cannot found the Spy++, please re-run the VS 2017 installer as administrator to check these components: Visual Studio C++ core features and C++ profiling tools already checked or selected the workload: Desktop development with C++ , refer to this similar issue: How do I get Spy++ with Visual Studio 2017?. If not, please select them to install, then you will get the Spy++.
Best regards,
Sara

Hi Wilkyrl,
Sorry to trouble you and i just want to confirm that after you modify the VS community 2017, check the required components '**Visual Studio C++ core features' **and 'C++ profiling tools' to install, then the Spy++ is display or not? If not, please feel free to let us know.
Best regards,
