Hi guys, seem to be having a problem configuring DHCP failover on another domain controller. When i try to add it fails with error 20010. After some searching i found that you have to setup the TFTP option under scope option on the backup server before trying to add it but i'm not sure if thats possible in my situation. My client has a about 20 scopes and atleast half have the TFTP option predefined and ive only seen images of them doing it with a single scope.
So how would i accomplish this with multiple scopes if some scopes have the option and some dont?

Nevermind, i figured it out =D. I thought predefined was set on the scope itself, just realized you had to right click on IPv4 to get that option and set it there.

Hi,
Please make sure that the predefined option has been configured on both of these DHCP servers.
If one of these servers can't recognize the predefined option, this error occurs.
Best Regards.

Hi Steven, i understand that the options has to be added but my question is "How do i add the option if i have 10 Scopes that have it and 10 that dont?"

This is a very poor answer, as Microsoft should fix this bug and allow options to propagate.
Or, if there is a reason that the options cannot propagate, at least list the options that are missing or mismatched, instead of making the admin go hunting through every option.
It all ends up being a very bad user experience. Microsoft needs to kick that terrible experience habit.
How many admins ever run a phone system? Every do a PXE boot? Most likely 90% of the admins out there have, and DHCP options have to be created to make these things work. Then they're spending the rest of their time trying to figure out why Microsoft features never work as advertised without extensive work.
