Windows 2016 Support of VC++ 2013 Redistributable Packages

Question

Does "Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Packages" really not support Windows 2016?

Its download page at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784 does not show a Win 2016 as supported OS, but:

Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2003,
Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2, Windows
Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Vista Service Pack 2,
Windows XP

Or is there an update?

Hello,

read this: https://support.microsoft.com/de-de/help/2661358/minimum-service-pack-levels-for-microsoft-vc-redistributable-packages

It is said that: "Because some Redistributable Packages were tested and published before newer Windows versions, newer Windows versions may not be listed in the "Supported platforms" section on the download page. When a new Windows version is released, testing is done to ensure that the compatibility between the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package and Windows is maintained"

2013 is older than 2016, so 2016 (and Win 10 too) are not shown on the download page. But MS says that older packages are tested and therefore supported in newer Windows versions.

And don't forget that as of this writing the last revision date of the KB article referred to above was August 2015, prior to the release of Windows Server 2016.
