Hi All,
We are having issue with one of our DHCP server.
The server stopped assigning IP to the clients suddenly. We found the following events logged in the server
Event ID: 1046
Event ID: 1059
In the DHCP log, we have the error as Unreachable Domain,,europe.com,8251,
We have already tried the following but it did not work. How we can Fix this issue ?
1)Un-authorize DHCP and remove the object from netservices configuration using adsiedit and then authorize it again
2)Backed up the DHCP database anduninstalled DHCP service from the server; Installed DHCP service on the server again and restored the backup
3)Remove the server from domain and rejoined the machine

In addition to Sachin's suggestion, from the looks of the DHCP log indicating, "[...] Unreachable Domain,,europe.com,8251, [...]," my first guess is a DNS lookup error.
This could be caused by:
- Using an ISP's DNS address in the NIC's properties
- Using the router's IP as a DNS address in the NIC's properties.

Just a reminder, if one of the above is true, then that means DHCP can't contact AD. It is extremely important that only the internal DNS servers hosting the AD zone are the only DNS servers used. Otherwise, numerous issues can result.

If you can post an unedited ipconfig /all, we can further evaluate the machine's configuration to eliminate any basic configuration problems, and possibly provide suggestions and recommendations.

Hi Nidhin,
Thank you for the post.
It seems something protect the connection to DC from your DHCP server. Try following suggestions to authorize DHCP server:
- Uninstall antivirus software and disabled the IPsec policy agent service
- Clean boot your DHCP server
- Move your DHCP server to a new OU without any group policies

Hi All,
I have the issue also (event ID 1059), what are the effects of this issue? Will it stop running the services? because currently my DHCP still running and servicing the client even though the error (1059) is still there. Please advice.

DC's operating system version and SP level?
Does it show up in ADSI Edit?

After a new DHCP server is authorized, the original DHCP server becomes unauthorized and cannot be authorized again in Windows 2000 Server

If it does, then maybe it's a config issue on the DC. Is it multihomed?
Any other event log errors? Check all Event log errors including the Windows Logs - the App & System logs, and under Application and Services Logs, if applicable - the AD Web services, DFS Replication, Directory Services, DNS Server & File Replication Server logs. Post the Event ID# and Source name in the event, and the server name it came from.

Hi All,
Environment: 2008 R2
To resolve the issue, Kindly remove the Server Bindings (Remember we have to have a Statis IP address for the DHCP Server to do this).
Steps:-
- Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click DHCP.
- Right click the name of the original DHCP server name.
- Click on Add/Remove Bindings.
- In Server Binding Properties, Uncheck the box for the Local Area Connection and click on OK.
- Restart the DHCP Service if required.

Hello,
I have this error 1059 in the log, at the same time info 1044* and at the same time error 1059.
After "Uncheck the box for the Local Area Connection and click on OK." - in log is error 1041 ("DHCP does not serve any DHCPv4 clients because none of the active network interfaces have statically configured IPv4 addresses or no network interfaces are active." - translate from czech, Google translator)
Any idea?

Try this.
Spent the entire day trying to fix this, removed DHCP, reinstalled DHCP, Backup up, restored, used old backup. Nothing fix it. The found this in the NET and wala. In 15 minutes it was fixed.
