Manage user profiles: How do I list all profiles?

Question

Monday, September 13, 2010 10:52 AM | 2 votes

I'd need to verify synchronization connection success and such. Currently the UPS lists that I have 9 profiles, but I'm having trouble getting them all to list at once. Is there some magic way to list all of them in 'Manage user profiles'?

Alternatively, can there be a reason for why I can't view the profiles in 'Manage user profiles'?

Hi Kaerwek,

Based on my local test, you can use the following method to list all profiles:

1.       Open central administration, click manage service applications under service applications,

2.       Click user profile service application, then click manage user profiles,

3.       Type your exact domain name in the textbox after “find profile”, then click find.

4.       Check the effect.

For more information about user profile service administration, please refer to the following article:

Hope this helps.

Yeah, it seems in 2010, they changed the manage user profiles page to require a search.  It's kind of a pain I agree.  I suppose you could always write some code to do this or maybe there is a third party tool to view everything.Corey Roth blog: www.dotnetmafia.com twitter: @coreyroth

the reason is it would be terribly innefficient to list all profiles. Of course in your environment with so few users this wouldn't be a problem, but that's why you cannot view all profiles from CA.Cheers

I sure understand why you shouldn't be able to list all profiles from CA. However, I've done a sync import and would want to check in my test environment all accounts. Is there any search string that returns all profiles at once?
