Question

Hi,
I receive some specific email, as soon as i select print option, Outlook freezes completely and ends up getting crashed.
Based on further research, I found that When email is copied to a local path and explicitly opened, selecting print option works fine (since images associated with these emails are not downloaded yet as they belong to external domain), But when print option is selected for these emails within outlook then it freezes (Since images associated with these emails in body are already downloaded)
After checking further more, It seems there is an hyperlinked image (which points to external site which is reachable/can be browsed) placed in the body which can be spotted at the end of the signature with red cross symbol. When i select forward this email option and try to remove this particular part, Printing option works fine.
Things which have been tried:
- Launching outlook in safe mode
- Disabling COM add-ins

Hi MS-WinTechie,
What's the version of your Outlook?
Have you tried to test on other machines to see if the result?
To help troubleshoot the problem, please try to change the printer to check if it is helpful. For example, you may try printing to PDF or XPS.
Besides, it is suggested to have a look at the Event Viewer when the issue occurs and see if anything useful would be recorded out there.
Any updates, feel free to post back.
Regards,
Yuki Sun

Thanks for the response.
Version of the outlook is 2013 SP1 Pro
Yes, it happens on other machines as well (within same environment), Issues is only with this specific mail which had hyperlinked image at the end of signature
Freeze happens as soon as "Print" option is selected (so can't make choice there). However tried changing default printer from control panel. Freeze still happens.
Nothing is logged in event viewer when issue occurs.
Culprit is already know which is (Hyperlinked image) at the end of signature, when this is removed manually from email. Problem doesn't occur as stated earlier

Hi MS-WinTechie,
Can you see the hyperlinked image when view the message? Is this replaced by a red x placeholder in print preview?
Please try going to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Automatic Download, clear the checkbox of Don't download pictures automatically in HTML e-mail messages or RSS items and check the result:

Hi Yuki,
Thanks for response.
Unfortunately, Clearing suggested checkbox didn't help as outlook still freezes when print option is seleted from file menu.
Moreover cross red mark can be seen before downloading the image (which works fine for printing) when i download the image explicitly/within outlook (that's when issue occurs) and the next image which creates the problem i see is below.

I have the same problem (with "Microsoft Outlook 2013 (15.0.5050.1000) Part of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013" on "Windows 10 Pro" ("Version 10.0.17134.285") on "Intel Core i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz" with ~15.6 GB RAM free and ~70.5 GB SSD HDD free on %SystemDrive%). Prints fine to the same printer from the same PC from "Microsoft Word 2013 (15.0.5067.1000)", "Microsoft Excel 2013 (15.0.5067.1000)" and "Foxit Reader (Version 9.0.1.1049)".
From Google Chrome ("Version 68.0.3440.106 (Official Build) (64-bit)"), it gets stuck in "Spooling" Status.
