Hello Niko Cheng ,

Thanks for your prompt response .

Please check this counters and suggest me can i make use of it for my requirement ?

Counters :

MSExchange MapiHttp Emsmdb\Connection Count - To track mailbox store connections
MSExchange MapiHttp Nspi\NSPI Connections Current - To track For address book connectionsm
MSExchnage HttpProxy /Total Requests - Track total numbers of proxy requests

Note : Also it would be great if Microsoft explains and release a article about these url's and specific counters for MAPI over HTTP protocol to track the active connections.

Thanks & Regards S.Nithyanandham

Hi Nithyanandham,

Except using NSPI counter to track for address book connections, I think the others would be reasonable.

For mailbox store connections, you can consider using the following counters:

MSExchange MapiHttp Emsmdb\Connection Count --

Connection Count is the total number of client connections maintained.

MSExchange MapiHttp Emsmdb\Active User Count --

Active User Count is the number of unique users that have shown some activity in the last 2 minutes.

Hi Nithyanandham,

As far as I know, there is no such a performance counter will only reveal the current active connections for MAPI over HTTP protocol.

For these Urls, based on my knowledge, they are used to verify if the server's mapi/http is working, we can test these  website by navigating to the Exchange backend in IIS Manager and selecting Browse:444 (https), as below:

If you are able to conntect to MAPI/HTTP endpoint, you will get the following information:

I don't find any MS article to describes that, but a blog mentioned them, for your reference:

MAPI over HTTP: Exchange 2013

Please note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information. And the changes made in the above blog is not supported officially by Microsoft.

Hope this helps,

Hi, we have been experiencing odd Outlook disconnects of late, and ive used some performance counters to monitor this throughout the day. Now, if you look at the screen grab you will see that every 55 minutes it would seem all users are disconnected - is that 'normal'. Im just trying to find the root cause and any input on this behaviour would be great.

Thanks

Phil
