Visual Studio 2010 SP 1 Setup Issue - VS10sp1-KB983509

Hello,

I've been trying to install the SP1 for Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate with no success for a couple of days, and after trying to follow all the suggestions I've come up across in this Forum I'm starting to think maybe I should just give up and write this topic so that I can get some specific help instead.

  1. First I've tried to install SP via Web and with no success.
  2. Then I downloaded the .iso version and tried to install again and had the same problem.

The setup always stop at: "Installing VS10sp1-KB983509" and after around 1 hour it just rollsback and gives me a fatal error.

You can try these steps:

  • Open Visual Studio and remove all the extensions and add-ins. To do so: Tools>>Add-in Manager…>>Disable all the available add-ins. Tools>>Extension Manager…>>Uninstall all
    extensions.
  • Repair Visual Studio 2010 in Control Panel.
  • Clean up your “%temp%” folder(Start>>Run>>%temp%).
  • Check if there are any anti-virus or antispyware applications running. Make sure they are turned off during installation.
  • Run the setup file with Administrator privileges: Right-click the installer > Run as administrator.

If the problem still exists after these steps, pleas provide complete install logs which help us to solve your issue.
